United Microelectronics

United Microelectronics (UMC), a Taiwanese contract foundry that builds wafers to other companies' designs, mostly for communications and consumer devices. It works mature nodes rather than the leading edge, with fabs in Taiwan, Singapore, mainland China and Japan. Incorporated in 1980, it has traded in New York since 2000. UMC on Robinhood Chain is a Robinhood Stock Token, a tokenised debt security issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited and backed by United Microelectronics shares held in custody at Alpaca Securities.
