GameStop on Robinhood Chain

GameStop (GME), a retail chain selling video games, consoles and collectibles, and taking a wider margin on a used game it buys back and resells than on a new one. In January 2021 buyers organising on Reddit squeezed the funds that were short the stock, and it has sold shares and convertible notes into the attention ever since, building a cash pile that has held bitcoin since 2025. GME on Robinhood Chain is a Robinhood Stock Token, a tokenised debt security issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited and backed by GameStop shares held in custody at Alpaca Securities.
