Eli Lilly (LLY), the American drugmaker behind the obesity and diabetes injections Zepbound and Mounjaro, which have become the centre of its business, alongside cancer drugs, insulin and the Alzheimer's treatment Kisunla. It earns on patented prescription medicines, most of the money coming from the US market. Founded in Indianapolis in 1876, it was the first company to produce insulin commercially, in 1923, and later brought the first SSRI antidepressant to market as Prozac.
