Bloom Energy

BE, Bloom Energy, which makes solid oxide fuel cells that produce electricity on site from natural gas, biogas or hydrogen through a chemical reaction rather than by burning it, sold to data centres and factories that want power without waiting on the grid. The technology came out of a device K.R. Sridhar's lab built for NASA to make oxygen on Mars; he co-founded it in 2001 and it listed in 2018.
