Avalanche

AVAX, the native coin of Avalanche, a proof-of-stake blockchain that lets companies and games run their own chains while drawing on its validators. AVAX pays the fees on Avalanche itself, and validators must lock AVAX to take part. Those fees are burned instead of going to validators, so every transaction removes coins from a supply capped at 720 million. Avalanche launched in 2020 out of consensus research by Cornell professor Emin Gün Sirer.
