Applied Optoelectronics

Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI), a maker of optical transceivers, the modules that turn electrical signals into light and back at each end of a fibre, and of the amplifiers and nodes cable operators use in hybrid fibre-coaxial plant. Data centres and cable television are its two main markets. Founded in Texas in 1997, it makes its own laser chips, all of them at its plant in Sugar Land. AAOI on Robinhood Chain is a Robinhood Stock Token, a tokenised debt security issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited and backed by Applied Optoelectronics shares held in custody at Alpaca Securities.
