ApeCoin on Robinhood Chain

APE, the token attached to Bored Ape Yacht Club, airdropped in March 2022 to the holders of the Bored Ape and Mutant Ape NFTs. It became the gas token of ApeChain, an Arbitrum Orbit layer 3 that opened in October 2024, so transactions there are paid in APE. The ApeCoin DAO that had governed the token voted itself out of existence in June 2025 and handed the treasury and the decisions to ApeCo, an entity run by Yuga Labs, the studio that drew the apes.
